It is good news for people who like Disney animation ‘Toy Story’. Japan’s Travel Watch recently opened Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel, Japan’s fifth Disney hotel by Milial Resort Hotels.
Toy Story Hotel is a movie “Toy Story” themed hotel produced by Disney and Pixar. As you walk toward the entrance, the toys in the movie grow, giving you the illusion of falling into the Toy Story worldview. The exterior of the hotel feels like a pile of colorful blocks, and it is set up by Andy, the owner of the toy in the movie. The front flower bed in Domino’s and Blocks reads “Hey Woody Hey” by Woody, the main character of the cowboy doll.
In front of the entrance, there is a square called Slink Dog Park. A 4-meter-tall space ranger Buzz Lightyear and a cowgirl Jessie doll welcome guests. There is also a simple roulette board game called “Slinky Dog Park Game” on the floor, so you can have fun. There is also a dice board game called Little Bo Peep’s Lost Her Sheep Game on the ceiling of the lobby, which is perfect for playing before checking in. Go-karts are attached to the inner wall and puzzle pieces are drawn on the floor, so it is never boring.
The front desk is so different that it is doubtful whether check-in is possible here. Mosaic letters glow with neon lights. Toys that appear in Toy Story, such as the beetle drumworm and stuntman Duke Kabun, fill the wall. The guest service counter has an illustration of Toy Story spin-off TV program “Woody’s Round Up.”
There are two stores in the lobby. In “Gift Planet,” Little Greenman sells original hotel goods. Shop Together sells household goods and baby goods. At Toy Friends Square outside the lobby, huge toys such as Little Greenman, Woody, Piggy Bank Ham and Bo Peep are welcomed.
After looking around, I finally enter the room. The entrance to the room is divided into two main characters of Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear, and a woody design. There are 575 standard rooms and 20 Superior rooms, all featuring Andy’s room. The wallpaper contains the sky of the cloud in Toy Story 1. Furniture, curtains, and amenities are all filled with Toy Story. There are Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Rex footprints in the hallway.
The Lasso Garden Cafe in the hotel is a must-visit place for Toy Story fans. Ratso is a teddy bear that appears in Toy Story 3. The exterior walls are painted with Rasso and Toy Story characters. The menu is all about Toy Story. Strawberry melon bread is shaped like a lathso, spinach bread is Little Greenman, potato pea tart is Buzz Lightyear, white chocolate mousse is shaped like Bo Peep, potato mousse bell pepper sauce and mango roll cake are shaped like Woody.
Toy Story Hotel is located at Tokyo Disneyland Resort in Maihama, Chiba Prefecture. It is a 2-3 minute walk from Bayside Station on the Monorail Disney Resort Line.
